Mrs. Mabel E. Stivers, 75, of North Buffalo Twp., passed away at 12:30 AM, Wednesday, January 28th, 2009 while in the company of family members at Armstrong Co. Memorial Hospital, Kittanning PA. Mabel was born in Freeport, PA on November 13, 1933, the daughter of the late Joseph and Clara (Croyle) Hamilton. She was a member of Evangel Heights Assembly of God in Sarver. Mable and her husband also regularly attend Allegheny Presbyterian Church in Allegheny Twp. She worked as a machinist at Du-Co Ceramics for a number of years. Mabel also worked for Lower Kiski and Kittanning #6 ambulance services. She worked as a cook for the Allegheny Valley Hospital for a number of years as well. Mabel enjoyed quilting pillows, craftwork and going gambling. Mabel is survived by her husband of 58 years, Henry L. Stivers Jr. Her four daughters: Debbie McCracken of Austin, TX; Donna Sue Richard of Buffalo Twp.; Denise (Richard) Ashbaugh of South Buffalo Twp.; Suzanne (Ed) Dickson of Andover, OH; A son, Henry J. (Betty Ortz) Stivers of Manor Twp. 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Mable is also survived by her sister, Elizabeth McCartney of Brackenridge, and her brother, Joseph "Bill" (Wilma) Hamilton of Brackenridge. She is preceded in death by her grandson, Michael McCracken. 2 sisters: Virginia Babinsack and June Beck. 2 brothers: Ronald "Pud" Hamilton and James Hamilton. Family and friends are invited to call Friday January 30th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Redmond Funeral Home Inc. 524 High St. Freeport, PA A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday Jan 31st at 11:00 am in the Allegheny Presbyterian Church, Leechburg, PA, with Lay Pastor, Lloyd Riggle officiating. Burial will be held in Brookland Cemetery Allegheny Twp., PA.
