Mr. Robert F. "Snake" Sarver, 72, of South Buffalo Twp., passed away peacefully at 8:25 AM, Saturday, January 10th, 2009 at Allegheny Valley Hospital, Harrison Twp.

Robert was born in Freeport, PA on May 5, 1936, where he has lived in the same house that his father built and he grew up in. He is the son of the late Harold F. and Catherine (Gagneur) Sarver.

He served in the US Air Force for six years stationed in North Africa, France, Germany and England. He was a member of the Air Force Softball team while stationed over seas. After his service to his country Bob worked as a furnace operator in Dept. 8-3 at Allegheny Ludlum Steel for over 30 years. He also work at Freeport Brick Co. for a number of years.

Bob enjoyed trapping,fishing, playing cards lottery tickets and trips to Wheeling, WV with his family. He was the past Pres. of the Freeport Sportsman's Club and a member of the PA Trapping Association.

Robert is survived by his daughter, Diana L. (Timothy) Baer of Freeport (Slate Lick) and his son,Mark (Tammy) Sarver of Buffalo Twp. 3 grandchildren; Justin Baer of Freeport, Lexi Baer of Freeport and Jacob Baer of Buffalo Twp. 2 great-grandchildren; Ashley and Kellie Baer. Robert is also survived by his brother, David J. (Alice) Sarver of South Buffalo .

At the family's request there will be no visitation.
