Helen Teresa (Sebak) Lasko, 93 of Buffalo Twp., passed away on December 21, 2018 at Concordia Lutheran Ministries, Cabot PA. Helen was born in Natrona on June 19, 1925. She was the daughter of the late Steve and Mary (Danik) Sebak. Helen attended St. Mathias grade school in Natrona PA and graduated from HarBrack (Highlands) High School, Natrona Heights, PA in 1942. She enrolled in the Cadet Nurse Corps program during WWII and graduated from St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsburgh, PA in 1947 She also received a BS in Nursing from Slippery Rock University in 1975 Worked as a RN for over 30 years: Municipal Hospital in Oakland, Ohio State University Hospital, State of Nevada Public Health nurse (well baby, prenatal, rheumatic fever and Nixon Indian Reservation clinics and as a school nurse), Deshon VA Hospital in Butler PA, Aspinwall VA Hospital, Allegheny County Department of Health, St. Anthony’s Hospital in FL and the American Lung Association. “God found some of the strongest women and made them nurses. Love a Nurse.” Helen attended St. Joseph church in Cabot, PA She enjoyed traveling, knitting, painting, drawing, reading, writing, calligraphy and playing the keyboard; loved education and learning, nature, movies and music Helen is survived by her husband of 60 years, Randy Lasko of Cabot; a brother, Ernest Sebak of Tampa, FL; a sister, Mildred Sebak Howryla of Zelienople PA. She is also survived by her 11 nieces/nephews; 14 great-nieces/nephews; and 2 great-great nieces. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by an infant brother,Anthony, and one sister, Sr. M. Bernarda (Margaret Sebak) VSC. All service were private and Helen was buried at Mt. Airy Cemetery in Natrona Heights.
