Robert W. "Zeke" Smith, Sr., 94, of Saxonburg, PA, passed away at 8:15 AM, Thursday, July 18th, while in the company of family members, at his daughter's residence. He is formerly of Tarentum
Robert was born in Natrona on March 11, 1919. He is son of the late Emma P. (Graybigle) and Charles "Love" Smith. He served in the US Army as a T-5 during WW II. Zeke was a truck driver in Patton's Army at Normandy, Rhineland and Northern France. After the was he worked as a Kiln fireman at Freeport Brick Co. in Creighton, for many years, retiring in 1981. Was a member of Center United Methodist Church in Fawn Twp. He was a Life Member of the Tarentum VFW Post 5758, Tarentum F.O.E., Parks Twp. Sportsman's Club and the Outdoor Life Lodge in Fawn Twp. Bob enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, trips to the casino, scratch off lottery tickets, playing cards and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his 2 daughters; Nancy (Albert) Crilley, of Saxonburg, Paula (Charles) Sovitski, of Buffalo Twp and his son, Robert (Paula) Smith, Jr., of Allegheny Twp. 5 grandsons; David (Rita) Koedel, Brad (Jen) Koedel, Robert W. (Desire) Smith, III, Paul (Susan) Smith and Matthew (Tara) Sovitski. He is also survived by her 7 great grandsons, 1 great granddaughter and 2 step great granddaughters. 2 sisters Martha Norris, of Winfield Twp. and Betty Lou Donahue, of Fawn Twp..

He is preceded in death by his ex-wife, Leeberta D. (Johns) Smith who passed in 2008, daughter, Judy McAleavey who passed in 2010 and his 11 brothers and sisters

Family and friends will be received on Monday July 22nd from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 10:00 am on Tuesday, July 23rd with Rev. Kurt Knobel of Emory Chapel United Methodist Church in Sarver. Burial with military honors will be held in Freeport Cemetery.
