Peter J. Fuhrman, 55, of Ford City, died peacefully of natural causes Saturday, April 7th, 2012 peacefully at his residence. Peter was born in Natrona Heights, on January 16, 1957, the beloved son of the late Grace (Furer) and Richard Joseph Fuhrman, and lived most of his life in the Freeport area. He held a variety of positions in local restaurants and small factories. He was a Navy veteran and traveled widely while in the service, from which he was honorably discharged. Peter was a loving son who provided care for both his parents in their later years. He was a kind and selfless brother who was always willing to lend a helping hand to all. He was a wonderful listener and had a quick sense of humor with a great laugh that could make a roomful of people smile. Peter loved animals of all kinds and spent many happy hours simply watching the wildlife at the family home. Peter was also a huge sports fan. He loved to watch the Steelers, Penguins and Pirates. He enjoyed watching pro golf and NASCAR.
Peter spent the last years of his life living in Ford City, where he enjoyed the friendship, camaraderie, and support of other people in his apartment building. He was happy being independent and self sufficient, and was always eager to assist anyone. He is survived by his two brothers Richard Jeffrey (Diane) Fuhrman, of New Kensington, and Eric Stephen (Susan) Fuhrman, of East Sandwich, MA;, and his two sisters Mary Janet Fuhrman, of East Sandwich, MA., and Pamela Louise (Mendell) Reitler, of East Sandwich, MA. He is also survived by four nephews, two nieces, and 5 great nieces and nephews.

At the family's request there will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Mary, Mother of God Church, Freeport, at 10:00 am on Saturday, April 14th, with Father Edward Volz officiating. Burial will be held in the St. Mary's Cemetery Freeport, PA.
