Myrtle Friend, 84, of South Buffalo Twp., passed away at 1:35 am, Thursday, January 19th, while in the company of family members, at Fair Winds Manor in Winfield Twp.

Myrtle was born in Boggsville section of South Buffalo Twp., on October 12, 1927. She was the daughter of the late Olive (Shaw) Keener and Raymond G. Kenner. She was the widow of Clyde Friend, who passed November of last year. Myrtle was a bookkeeper at Carson Industries in South Buffalo Twp. for over 20 years

Myrtle was a member of the Reformed United Presbyterian Church in South Buffalo Twp. She was also a member of the NARFE organization. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by 5 children: Raymond (Peggy) Friend, of Chicora., Ronald (Michelle) Friend, of Winter Springs, FL., Rodney (Philippa) Friend, of Buffalo Twp., Saundra (Bob) Isovitsch, of Butler and Cynthia Crytzer, of Mercer. Her 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her 5 brothers; Richard (Janet) Keener, of Freeport. Donald Keener, of North Buffalo Twp., R. Lawrence Keener, of Cabot., Keith (Charlotte) Keener, of Freeport and William (Judy) Keener, of Freeport. 2 sisters; Mary Lou Bouch, of Orlando, FL.
Janet (Richard) Scott, of Fenelton, PA.

She is preceded in death by her son Roger Friend, her 2 sisters, Margaret Turko and Eleanor Emery, infant sister Donna Keener, and infant brother Kenneth Keener.

Family and friends are being received on Sunday January 22nd from 12-2 and 5-7 p.m. in the Redmond Funeral Home Inc. 524 High St. Freeport, PA. A funeral service will be held on Monday Jan 23rd at 10:00 am in the funeral home with Rev. Mark Davis of Slate Lick United Presbyterian Church, officiating.

Burial will be held in the Slate Lick Cemetery, Kittanning, PA.
