Josephine "Jo" H Shutts, 90, of Cabot, PA, passed away at 4:02 am Sunday, January 15th, peacefully, at Butler Co. Memorial Hospital. Jo is formerly of South Buffalo Twp.

Josephine was born in Tarentum, on March 19, 1921, the daughter of the late Anna (Simonides) and Joseph Hrivnak. She was the widow of John L. Shutts who passed in 1995.

She worked as a secretary for a number of years at Allegheny Ludlum Steel in Brackenridge.

Jo was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Freeport where she was very involved in any of the church activities. She was a past member of the Freeport Evening Club, South Buffalo Vol. Fire Dept. Ladies Aux. and the South Buffalo Grange. She volunteered at the Freeport Library, Freeport Meals on Wheels and various activities in the community. She enjoyed bowling and traveling all over the United States with her husband.

She is survived by 2 children: John F "Jack" Shutts, of San Jose, CA and Joanne M. Sterling, of Coral Springs, FL. Her grandson; Cody J. Sterling of Tarentum. And her sister, Ruth Hrivnak, of Jefferson Twp and her brother John and Carol Hrivnak, of Clinton, OH.

She is preceded in death by her 2 sisters; Mary Novak and Anne Ridgeley and her brother, Joseph Hrivnak.

Family and friends are being received on Thursday Jan. 19th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Redmond Funeral Home Inc. 524 High St. Freeport

There will be viewing held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Freeport from 10 - 11 am on Friday Jan 20th followed by the funeral service at 11:00 am with Rev. James Higgins officiating. Burial will be held in the Lawn Haven Burial Estates Worthington, PA.
