Mrs. Pauline S. Kirkland, of Lower Burrell went to be with her Savior, Jesus Tuesday, March 1st, 2011 peacefully at her loving home. Pauline was born in Greensburg, PA to the late Alfred and Hazel (McKlveen) Shoaf. She was the widow of Alvin N. Kirkland who had passed in 1993. She was employed as a bus driver for the Lower Burrell School District for 26 retiring in 1996. Pauline was a member of the Braeburn VFD Ladies Aux and the Braeview Ladies Aux. She enjoyed reading her bible, going to church, bowling, cooking, playing cards, flower and vegetable gardening. Her time was spent loving and serving her children and grandchildren. Pauline was a devoted mother, grandmother and friend. She is survived by 2 sons James M. Kirkland of Tarentum and Lynn and Linda Kirkland of Buffalo Twp. Her 2 daughters; Harriett and David Archibald and Jill and Robert Berger all of Lower Burrell, and a brother; Richard and Maggie Shoaf of Columbia SC. Her sister-in-law, Harriett Oakley of Florida. She is also survived by her 12 grandchildren; David, Michael, Jimmy, Michelle, Laurie, Christa, Jamie, Marisa, Cameron, Tahlon, Jason and Tyler; 4 great-grandchildren: Alyssa, Kelsey, Braydon and Alexis. She is preceded in death by her 4 brothers; Alfred, Charles, Edgar and William Shoaf. 2 sisters, Mary Lou Schmitt and Kathrine Prince Family and friends are being received on Friday March 4th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Redmond Funeral Home Inc. 524 High St. Freeport, PA A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home on Sat. March 5th at 10:00 am. Burial will be held in Greenwood Memorial Park Lower Burrell, PA.
