Blanche Winifred Buterbaugh, 89, of South Buffalo Twp. passed away Friday, October 2nd, 2009 while in the company of family members at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh

Blanche was born in Brackenridge on September 9, 1920, the daughter of the late Joseph and Annie (Meade) Manning. She was the widow of Roy W. Buterbaugh who passed away in 2006

She worked as a nurses aid at for Allegheny Valley Hospital for for 25 years retiring in 1982. She was a member of St. Jude's Society, Boys and Girls Town and the Miraculous Medal Society. She enjoyed watching TV and her family.

Blanche is survived by her daughter Phyllis J (Richard) Allen of Fawn Twp. Her son, Roy (Margaret) Buterbaugh of Pittsburgh and her 2 granddaughters, Yvonne (Trishul) Devenine and Marlena (Brian) Geiger.

Blanche is preceded in death by her 4 sisters; Lois Bouchet, Irene Rayl, Lillian Harris and Mildred Manning. Her two brothers; Joseph Jr. and William Manning.

Family and friends are being received on Monday October 5th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Redmond Funeral Home Inc. 524 High St. Freeport, PA A Parish Wake Service will be held at 8:45 p.m. Monday evening in the funeral home.

A parting prayer service will be held in the funeral home at 9:30 am that will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Freeport, PA, at 10:00 am on Tuesday October 6th with Father Edward Volz officiating.

Burial will be held in Mt. Airy Cemetery Natrona Heights, PA.
