Mr. William Artman, 71, of Buffalo Twp., passed away at 9:50 pm, Monday, June 29th, 2009 while in the company of family members at Good Samaritan Hospice Unit at Concordia, Jefferson Twp., PA.
William was born in Allegheny Twp., PA on July 16, 1937, the son of the late Everett and Mildred (Lye) Artman who survives him of Buffalo Twp.
Mr. Artman was a truck driver for Don Martin Trucking for over 40 years retiring in 2000. He also worked for Tesone Trucking and Freeport Transport as well. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church Sarver, PA. Mr. Artman was a member of the Jefferson Co. Rod and Gun Club for over 45 years. He enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, hunting and being with his family and all his grand and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Eva (McCain) Artman. His children; Son William (Brenda) Artman, Jr. of Prospect, PA. 3 daughters, Belinda Thompson of Natrona Heights; Gena Kopnicky of Winfield, Twp.; Lori Artman of Buffalo Twp. A sister Vivian (Jim) Beers of Buffalo Twp. and his brother Jim (Sarah) Artman of Parks Twp. Mr. Artman is also survived by his 9 grand and 6 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his granddaughter, Lisa Janoski
Family and friends are being received on Thursday July 2nd from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Redmond Funeral Home Inc. 524 High St. Freeport
A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 3rd, with Rev. Emery Barnett officiating.
Burial will be held in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, West Leechburg .
