Mrs. Leeberta D. Smith, 82, of Buffalo Twp., passed away at 6:00, Saturday, November 1st, 2008 peacefully at her residence. Leeberta was born in Freeport, PA on December 31, 1925, the daughter of the late Lee and Sarah (Jack) Johns. Sr.She worked as a cook in the dietary department at Allegheny Valley Hospital for 30 years retiring in 1988. Mrs. Smith loved to sew, crocheting and doing crafts. She had made her children and grandchildren wedding dresses, cloths and costumes. She enjoyed flower gardening and reading. Her greatest love was her children and grandchildren. Leeberta is survived by; 3 daughters, Judy (James) McAleavey of Espyville, PA; Nancy (Albert) Crilley of Tarentum, PA; Paula (Charles) Sovitsky of Buffalo Twp. One son, Robert (Paula) Smith, Jr. of Allegheny Twp.; 5 grandsons; David (Rita) Koedel, Brad (Jen) Koedel, Robert W. (Desire) Smith, III, Paul (Susan) Smith and Matthew Smith. She is also survived by her 7 great grandsons. Her brother, George Johns, South Buffalo Twp. and her sister, Ruth (Tony) McCall of Natrona Heights.She is preceded in death by her 2 brothers James H and Lee Johns, Jr. Two sisters, Mae Jones and Ella Eshenbaugh.Family and friends are invited to call Monday Nov. 2nd from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Redmond Funeral Home Inc. 524 High St. Freeport. A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday Nov 3rd. at 10:00 am with Rev. Bonnie Fisher of Emory Chapel Church, Sarver officiating. Interment private at convenience of the Family.
