Mr. Earl Bond Sterling, 93, of Melbourne, FL., passed away at 1:40 AM, Monday, March 17th, 2008 peacefully at Avante Nursing Home in Melbourne. Mr. Sterling moved to Melbourn over 20 years ago. He is formerly of Buffalo Twp. Mr. Sterling was born in Benrise, MD on April 15, 1914, the son of the late Isaac and Essie (Bond) Sterling. He was the widower of Edith M. (Griffith) Sterling who passed away in 1983.Earl had served in the U.S. Marines during WW II. He was a past member of First Christian Church Tarentum, PA . Earl worked at at Country Bell Dairy in Natrona Heights for 33 years. He had also worked at Saxony Golf Course in Saxonburg be fore moving to FloridaEarl enjoyed golfing, hunting,palying cards. He was an avid bowler who had belonged to the Mora League and a number of Couples Leagues over the years. He is survived by his 3 sons; Earl W. "Pete" (Cathy) Sterling of Melbourne, FL., Carl D. (Nancyann) Sterling of Sarver, PA., James B. (Coleen) Sterling of Palm Bay, FL. Earl is also survived by his 7 grandchildren and 13 geat-grandchildrenHe is preceded in death by his companion of the last 20 years, Grace Beck. His son Donald Paul Sterling. 3 brothers; Charles, Henry and Carl Sterling. 3 Sisters; Ester Carlin, Neddie Daum and Grace Gravatt. A Memorial Service will be held at Janes United Methodist Church, Creigton, PA at 9:30 am on Saturday, March 29th, with Rev. Dawn Lynn Check officiating. Family has request no flowers. Memorial donations to be made to; Janes United Methodist Church 947 Freeport Rd. Creigton, PA 15030.
