Mr. Calvin Smock, 83, of Donegal Twp., passed away at 7:00 AM, Sunday, December 9th, 2007 peacefully at his residence. Formerly of Freeport, PA Mr. Smock was born in Freeport, PA on July 4, 1924, the son of the late Joseph C. and Mary E. (Garner) Smock.Calvin served his country in the U.S. Army Air Force during WW II. He was employed as a railroad conductor at Allegheny Ludlum Steel for 40 Retired in 1982. Mr. Smock was a member of Freeport United Methodist Church. He was a life member of F&AM Armstrong Lodge # 239. He was a life member of the New Castle Consistory. A life member of the American Legion Post # 683 Saxonburg. He was a past member of the White Star Club, Freeport. Calvin enjoyed gardening, collecting old model cars, John Deere collectables, watching old western movies on TV and traveling with his wife. Calvin was the husband of Linda (Armstrong) Smock. They have been married for the past 43 years. He is survived by his brother, Howard Lynn Smock of South Buffalo Twp..Mr. Smock is preceded in death by his daughter, Brenda Montgomery. 4 brothers; Charles, Wayne, Donald and Arthur Smock. 5 sisters; Verna Hartman, Bessie Hoak, Marie Schuey, Martha and Joyce Smock Family and friends are being received on Tuesday 12/11 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. in the REDMOND FUNERAL HOME, INC. 524 High St. Freeport, PA. A Masonic service will held on 7:00 pm Tuesday evening in the funeral home. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 12th, . Burial will be in the Freeport Cemetery Freeport, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Lung Association of Western PA 2851 Bedford Ave. Pittsburgh, PA 15219
