Mrs. Lucy Margaret Cestra, 89, of Bridgeville, passed away at 4:00 AM, Sunday, July 15th, 2007 peacefully at Country Meadows , Bridgeville, PA. Formerly of Freeport Mrs. Cestra was born in Pittsburgh, PA on October 6, 1917, the daughter of the late Anthony and Pierena (Ruano) Damiano. She was a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church Freeport, PA 16229 and worked as a cashier at Ebig's and Lee's Pharmacy Freeport., for 30 retiring in 1990. Life member of the CD of A and Christian Mothers. She was a member of her church choir and volunteered for the cafeteria many years. She was a member of the Freeport Senior Citizens and the Freeport VFD Ladies Aux. She enjoyed walking, dancing, being with her friends and family. Lucy is survived by her daughter, Carolyn (Ray) Wolverton of Denver, PA. and her son Dennis (Jane) Cestra of Bethel Park, PA. A grandson, Gregory(Rose) Cestra of Pleasenton CA, 3 granddaughters; Jessica (Jason) Levine of Goodyear, AZ, Jennifer (Todd) Wisner of Viena, VA, Jonna (Tom) Harper of Turtle Creek, PA. 2 great grandsons Eric Cestra and Ethan J. Levine. Many nieces and nephews.She is preceded by her husband, Felix Cestra who passed in 1967. Stepfather, Attilio Panard, 3 sisters; Mary Adeline DeNunzio, Gloria Pollis and Gloria Rita in infancy.Family and friends are being received on Friday July 20 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the REDMOND FUNERAL HOME INC. 524 High St. Freeport, PA 16229 A parting prayer service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday July 21st at 9:30 am followed by Mass of Christian Burial atSt. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Freeport, at 10:00am, withFather John T. Euker officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Penn Hills Twp.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church 608 High St. Freeport, PA 16229.

I have fond memories of Lucy. She always had such a happy attitude and smiling face. A very nice lady I remember from the time a was a child in Freeport. May her soul rest in peace.
