Mr. Richard A. "Dick" Powell, 64, of Winfield Twp., passed away at 2:30 PM, Thursday, June 14th, 2007 at his residence. Mr. Powell was born in Freeport, PA on March 19, 1943, the son of the late William M. and Orphy (Blystone) Powell.He was a Navel Chief in the US Navy for 26 years and served during the Vietnam War He also worked as a security administrator for GKN Aerospace in San Diego for 10 years. Dick was a life member of the VFW He enjoyed woodworking and loved spending time with his daughter Alysia. Mr. Powell is survived by his wife, Joy (Urdangen) Powell. 2 daughters; Lisa (Shawn) Christman of Poulsbo, WA. and Alysia Powell of Winfield Twp. 2 sons; Butch (Wanda) White of Brookville, IN., Jeff White of San Diego, CA and a granddaughter Emily Ann ChristmanAlso survived by his 4 sisters; Diana (Zahn) Kendell of Leechburg., Alice (Walter) Sample of Buffalo Twp, Betty Jones of Natrona Heights., Shirley Hoak of Freeport. 2 brothers; Louis (Sandy) Powell of Freeport., Walter Powell of Tarentum.Richard is preceded in death by his daughter, Lori Powell, 2 brothers, Donald and William PowellFamily and friends are being received on Monday, June 18th from 7-9 p.m.. in the REDMOND FUNERAL HOME, INC. 524 High St. Freeport, PA 16229 A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, June 19th, at 10:00 am with Reverend William Mumaw officiating. Burial will be in the Brookland Cemetery Allegheny Twp., PA.
