Peter Kornuchuck, 85, of Buffalo Township, passed away peacefully Friday, Feb. 19, 2016, at Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights. Peter was born Feb. 16, 1931, in Plum Borough, a son of the late Anna (Dedo) and Prokop Kornuchuck. Peter served his country during the Korean War as a member of the Air Force. During his time in service, he was stationed in Germany. Peter was a member of the Sarver Vets. He was in the manufacturing of railroad brake systems for Westinghouse Air Brake in Wilmerding for 28 years, retiring in 1996. He enjoyed gardening and was known to be able to fix anything. Peter is survived by his two children, Mark E. Cravener, of Cabot, and Barbara Cravener, of Eden, N.C.; his two sisters, Olga Kornuchuck and Lillian Snair, both of Plum Borough; and two granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara (Zanetti) Kornuchuck, who passed away in 2015; and his three sisters, Ann Mohar, Jennie Grice and Ethel Kornuchuck. At the family's request, there will be no public visitation. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sarver Veterans Club, 641 Sarver Road, Sarver, PA 16055.
