Miles "Mike" Beale, 93, of South Buffalo Township, passed away peacefully Saturday, Oct. 10, 2015, at Elmcroft of Saxonburg. Mike was born Sept. 16, 1922, on his family's farm in South Buffalo Township. He was the son of the late Agnes (McCallister) and James G. Beale. He served in the Navy during World War II. After the war, he came home and went to work as a general foreman for PPG Industries in Creighton. Mike had worked at PPG for 44 years, retiring in 1984. He was a member of Freeport United Methodist Church and a member of Armstrong Lodge 239 F&AM in Freeport. Mike enjoyed golfing, hunting, farming, gardening and doing yard work. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Miles Gibson "Gib" and Linda Beale, of Atlanta, Ga.; and his daughter-in-law, Barbara Beale, of South Buffalo Township. Mike is also survived by his three grand and seven great-grandchildren. Mike was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia G. (Kelly) Beale, who passed in 2006; his two sons, Edward A. and Ronald A. Beale; three brothers, Richard, Howard and Roy Beale; and his sister, Mamie Beale.
Family and friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2015, in the REDMOND FUNERAL HOME INC., 524 High St., Freeport. The funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. in the funeral home, following the visitation, with the Rev. James G. Young officiating. Burial will be held in Greenwood Memorial Park in Lower Burrell.

Great man with a huge heart. Loved his laugh as he was always smiling & happy. It was great times at his corn roasts and sled riding down his yard...back in the day...which is too many years to even count, but the memories remain!
