6Ronald J. "Cheech" Venturini, 82, of Winfield Twp., formerly of Buffalo Twp., passed away on Wednesday, June 11th, while in the company of family members, at Fair Winds Manor in Sarver. Ronald was born in Allegheny Twp., on November 2, 1931, the son of the late Evelyn (Zendri) and Adriano Venturini. He was a member of St. Mary, Mother of God Church in Freeport. He served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, during WW II. He worked in maintenance and air conditioning at Allegheny Ludlum Steel in Brackenridge, for 44 years , retiring in 1994. Ronald enjoyed going to church, woodworking, electrical work, music, and was an avid Steelers fan. Ronald was a very good artist and seamstress, making his daughters' gown for their high school prom. He also enjoyed helping others and spending time with his grand kids. He is survived by his wife of 39 years Mary T. (Shira) Venturini; 2 daughters Donna McGuire, of Sarver. and Nadene (James) Buterbaugh, of S. Buffalo Twp.; 2 sons Gary A. (Debbie) Venturini, of Freeport., and James (LeAnn) Venturini, of Buffalo Twp.; 11 grandchildren, 8 step-grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; brother Albert J. Venturini, of Greentown, OH; sister Alice Walker, of Buffalo Twp.; 3 stepsons James (Tammy) Wylie, of Butler; David (Wendi) Wylie, of Bogart, GA. and William (Susan) Wylie, of Spring, TX; and stepdaughter Laura (Randy) Wagner, of Buffalo Twp. He was preceded in death by his first wife Carol Jean Venturini, who passed in 1969, his brother Eugene Venturini, and sisters Lucy Venturini and Rose McCusker. Family and friends will be received on Friday June 13th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. in the Redmond Funeral Home Inc. 524 High St. in Freeport. A parting prayer service will be held in the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10;00 am Saturday, June 14th, at St. Mary's Mother of God Church in Freeport with Father Edward Volz officiating. Burial will be held in St. Mary's Cemetery in Freeport. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to; St. Mary Mother of God 608 High St., Freeport, PA 16229
