Kellie Sue Smith, 48, of Freeport, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016, at her home. Kellie was born Dec. 16, 1967, in Butler. She is the daughter of Karen L. (Myers) Neyman, of Saxonburg, and the late Robert Neyman, who passed in 2011. Kellie was a 1985 graduate of Freeport Area High School. She then attended Duff's Business Institute where she received her medical assistant degree. Kellie had a penchant for baking, a fondness for clothing and jewelry, compassion for animals and above all, devotion to her family. She cared for strangers as she did family, and possessed an unparalleled generosity. She had a genial, soothing presence and an affable disposition. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Kevin Smith; her son, Jacob Smith, of Saxonbug; two sisters, Kim Neyman, of Buffalo Township and her fiance, Tim Ebig, and Kristi and Jeff Donahue, of Saxonburg. Kellie is also survived by many nieces and nephews. At the family's request there will be no public visitation. A Memorial Service will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, 2016, in the REDMOND FUNERAL HOME INC., 524 High St., Freeport. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Orphans of the Storm, 11878 PA-85 Kittanning, PA 16201.

Karen, Kim & Kristy, I am so sorry for your loss. I have so many wonderful memories of Kellie growing up. Our little neighborhood crew was something that I will cherish forever. I pray that Kellie is at peace and that the three of you find comfort in all of your memories.

I went to high school with Kellie and was in several of her business classes. Later on after graduation, I worked with her at Freeport Brick Company. I will always remember Kellie's smile and how sharply she dressed. I just heard the tragic news and want to say how deeply sorry I am. It was so unexpected, which makes it even harder on those of us who share your grief. I hope that the outpouring of sympathy you are receiving is some consolation at this very sad time. You will all be in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Jake, our daughter, Maria Shreve, told us about your Mom's passing. We had the privilege of meeting her at your pinning ceremony. What a very sad time for you as we know she was very proud of you. We will keep you and your family in our thoughts. Anna Marie and Sam Leezer
