Frances Louise Fair, 85, of Largo, FL passed away peacefully after battling illness, on Saturday, November 12th, while in the company of family, near Clearwater, FL. Frances was born in Freeport, PA, on June 15, 1931. She was the daughter of the late Mary (Boggetta) Crider and John A. Chiado. She was a former member of St. Mary's, Mother of God Church in Freeport. Frances was a 1949 graduate of Freeport High School. After graduation, she traveled to Washington, DC, and took a job as a statistical typist at the Veteran's Administration and then The Pentagon. Frances then ventured to the west coast and found work with the Ernst & Ernst Accounting firm in Los Angeles. She returned to the east coast after two years and filled a position in Philadelphia with another accounting firm. She then moved back to Washington, DC, and worked for Metropolitan Broadcasting Corp for eight years. She finished her professional career as an accountant with Central Bank for Cooperatives, starting in DC, then transferring with family in 1972 to Denver, CO. After her 21 years with CBC, she excitedly took early retirement in 1987 and moved to sunny Florida. Frances enjoyed going out to eat, dancing, swimming and spending time with her friends and family. Another great passion later in life, was enjoyed onboard a large vessel, or at local or distant casinos, where she perched herself in front of her favorite video poker slot machines. Frances is survived by her two daughters, Lisa Marie (Daniel) Lauer of Colorado Springs, CO., Tina Marie Fair of Denver, CO., and her son, Gene Paul Fair Jr., formerly of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Her two grandchildren, Jenna Marie (Harmon) Anderson, and Jessica Marie Lauer. Frances is also survived by two sisters, Mary (James) Koedel of Natrona Heights and Catherine "Dolly" Timko of Freeport. She is preceded in death by her only brother, Anthony Chiado, two sisters, Jo Ann Crider and Stella Pietrykowski, and her prior husband, Gene Paul Fair Sr. Family and friends will be received on Thursday Nov 17th from 7 - 9 PM in the REDMOND FUNERAL HOME, INC. 524 High St., Freeport, PA. A parting prayer service will be held in the funeral home at 9:30 AM, prior to a Christian Funeral Mass at St. Mary, Mother of God Church in Freeport at 10:00 AM on Friday, November 18th, officiated by Father Ronald Maquinana. Burial will be held in St. Mary's Cemetery, Freeport, PA.
