Betty Lou Mohney, 88, of Freeport, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018, while in the company of family, at Good Samaritan Hospice Unit at Concordia, in Cabot. Betty was born April 15, 1929, in Freeport. She was the daughter of the late Della (Booher) and Roland O. Cornman. Betty was the widow of Donald W. Mohney, who passed in 2000. Betty was a wonderful mother and homemaker who loved to cook for her family. She was a member of Freeport United Methodist Church and a past member of the Freeport Eagles Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing bingo, gardening and spending time with her family. Betty especially enjoyed her talks with her friend and sister-in-law, Connie Cornman. Betty is survived by her three daughters, Linda C. and Ronald Bowser, of Leechburg, Jeanie Sappie, of Freeport, and Donna Sliviak, of Freeport; her grandchildren, Keith Bowser, Chad Lowers, Shelley and Terry Leech, and Eric Sliviak and fiancee, Jen Gromley; great-grandchildren, Tara and Tyler Leech, and Jenna Lowers. Betty is also survived by her sister, Doris Bollinger, of Freeport. Betty was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Leo Sliviak; brothers, John R., Robert W., Thomas and James Cornman; and sisters, Mary Belle McGuire and Rosetta DiGiacobe. Family and friends will be received from noon to 2 and 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11, in the REDMOND FUNERAL HOME INC., 524 High St., Freeport. Visitation will continue from 11 a.m. to noon Monday, Feb. 12. Funeral service will follow the visitation at noon, with Pastor Dawn Lynn Check officiating. Burial will be held in McVille Union Cemetery, South Buffalo Township. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Good Samaritan Hospice, 3500 Brooktree Road, Suite 320, Wexford, PA 15090.

Linda, Jeanie, and Donna,

Please accept my heartfelt sympathy for the loss of your mother. I am out of town and unable to pay my respects. I have fond memories of your mother at our family reunions and any Mohney gathering at Grandma Mohney"s house.
