Dallas G. Silvis, Jr., of North Buffalo Twp. passed away at his residence. Dallas was born in Natrona Heights. on December 16, 1946 to Dallas G. Silvis Sr. of Cabot, PA, and the late Sarah C. (Faith) Silvis. Dallas graduated with an associate degree in drafting and design from Penn State University, then worked for Harbison-Walker Refractories and Penn United Technology. Dallas owned and operated Rugged Country Equipment and worked for a number of years with Gaiser construction. Dallas was a long time member of New Life Center, Ford City, PA and later helped build New Hope Assembly of God in NuMine. Dallas earned his licensed ministry certification through Global University, and served New Hope Assembly as the men’s ministry leader, prayer team leader, and Sectional Men’s Ministry representative. In addition he served as the treasurer of the Rural Valley Ministerium. He enjoyed the outdoors, feeding wildlife and cutting firewood. He was an accomplished woodworker, his most notable piece being the “Memorial to the Unborn”, which is displayed in the window of New Life Center in Ford City. Dallas is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Janice C. (Gray) Silvis as well as his children Virginia and her husband Ronald Kemerer; Matthew and his wife Amy Silvis; 3 grandchildren, Eliana, Isaac, and Abigail Kemerer. Dallas is also survived by his siblings Marjorie and her husband Nelson Kloker of Butler; Kathy and her husband Robert Wilson of Chicora; and Jeffrey and his wife Bernice Silvis, of Saxonburg. The memorial celebration for Dallas will be held on January 19, noon to 4:00 at New Hope Assembly of God, NuMine, PA. Dear Jan, Ginny, Matt and all the family, We are praying for God's peace and comfort for you as you grieve. Dal was a faithful husband, father and grandfather.
