Harry S. "Sam" Abbott, III, 54, of Allegheny Twp., passed away Thursday, December 13th, at his residence. Sam was born in Natrona Heights, on September 27, 1964, a son of Sally (Kalmeyer) Colen, of Natrona Heights and Harry S. Abbott, Jr, of Sarver. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Persian Gulf War. Sam was a manager at Midas in Lower Burrell and Monro Auto Service in Pittsburgh for 30 years. Sam was extremely artistic, and enjoyed writing children's books, hunting, fishing, and graphic design. He is survived by his wife, Laura Hope Douglass; 3 daughters Abbygale-Ann Hope Abbott, of Allegheny Twp., Sarah Marie Jackson, of Vandergrift and Melissa Lynn Abbott, of Pittsburgh; his son, Justin Dean Abbott, of East Vandergrift; 3 grandchildren Austin Jackson, Alex Jackson, and Isabella Brown. He is also survived by 3 brothers, Daniel (Kathy) Abbott, of Leechburg; Patrick Abbott, of Lower Burrell and Kasey Abbott, of Sarver, his sister Verity (Phil) Pebbler, of South Carolina; and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of life gathering will be held on Tuesday, December 18th from 2-3 p.m. in the Redmond Funeral Home, Inc. 524 High St. Freeport. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Laura Hope Douglass c/o Redmond Funeral Home, 524 High St. Freeport, PA 16229.

Dear Sam and sally, and family, I can not express how sad I was when I heard the news. May God love sam as much as we did. I spoke with him over the years and will miss him. With his departure the world is not a better place.
He was my friend and I hope in Heaven we can meet again and cause more trouble all over again.
