Rhoda Doris McGuire, 99, passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at Butler Memorial Hospital due to Covid 19 complications. Rhoda was a longtime resident of South Buffalo Township and last resided at Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot. Rhoda was born in Small Point, Newfoundland on September 23, 1921, and one of 9 children of the late Bertha (Vallis) and James R. Peach. She was the widow of Kenneth F. McGuire, who passed in 1985. She enjoyed crocheting with a knack of being able to duplicate the most complicated stitchery, camping at Tionesta and Buttercup Campgrounds and spending time with her family while serving her famous orange cake. Rhoda was a former member of Center United Methodist in Fawn Twp. Rhoda is survived by three sons, Kenneth (Karen) McGuire, of Sarver; Chester (Juanita) McGuire, of Cabot; Ronald (Marci) McGuire, of Verona. Four daughters, Leona Hirtz, of Natrona Heights; Ivy Danik, of Tarentum; Carol Ehrman, of Apollo and Mary Forsyth (Cliff Walter) of Tarentum. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Clowers, of Augusta, Georgia and brother, John Peach, of Wakefield, MA. She will be forever missed by her numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great- great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, Rhoda was preceded in death by an infant twin sister, 2 brothers, Chester and Walter Peach, and 3 sisters, Gwen Cartee, Leah Windsor and Vida Thistle, 4 son-in laws, John Hirtz, Fred Ehrman, Joseph Danik and Charles Forsyth, 2 grandchildren Zachery Sadecky and Robin Jablonowski and 2 infant grandchildren. At the family's request there will be no public visitation and a private family burial will be held in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell, PA.
