Virginia I. Hill Van Dyke, 93, of Freeport, PA, passed away at 6:45 AM, Tuesday, October 2nd, at Alle-Kiski Medical Center in Natrona Heights.

Virginia was born in South Buffalo Twp. on November 12, 1918. She was the daughter of the late Florence M. (Srader) and Blair S. VanDyke. She was the widow of her 1st husband, Raymond L. Hill who passed in 1973 and her 2nd husband, Glenn E. Van Dyke who passed in 1997. She was a life time member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Freeport. She worked as a private duty nurse and was an LPN at Concordia Lutheran Home in Cabot for 25 years Virginia was a member of Eastern Star. She enjoyed being involved in church activities. She loved to crochet, sew, cook and bake. She enjoyed reading and making Christmas crafts for her family and friends. She also so enjoyed her time and friends at Fair Winds Manor.

Virginia is survived by her 3 children: Sidney R. (Kathleen) Hill, of South Buffalo Twp. Annette J. Pirrone, of New Kensington and Sally I Smith, of South Buffalo Twp. Her 3 step-children; Edwin (Toot) VanDyke, of South Buffalo Twp., Evelyn Stokes, of Colorado Springs, CO and Kathleen (David) Ehrman, of Brackenridge. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Deborah Thieising, Kimberly (Dave) Chapman, Gregory Hill, Nancy Keener, Ted (LuAnn) Keener, John Keener, Allen (Janice) Keener, Tim (Michelle) Keener, Brigitte (John) Kowalski, Jennifer (Thomas) Johnson and Christopher (Carole) Smith. 19 great-grandchildren, 12 step-grandchildren, numerous great and great great grandchildren. Virginia was also eagerly anticipating the birth of her first great-great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her son Paul E. Hill is 2002. 2 brothers, Robert and William VanDyke, sister, Dorothy Ruppersberger. 2 sons-in-law, Sam Pirrone and James Smith. Granddaughter-in-law, Joyce Keener, great-grandson, Aaron Keener,
and niece, Denise Thimons.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday Oct 3rd from 7-9 p.m. and on Thurday Oct. 4th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm in the Redmond Funeral Home Inc. 524 High St. Freeport, PA.

Funeral Services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 am on Friday, October 5th, with Rev. James Higgins officiating. Burial will be held in the Lawn Haven Burial Estates Worthington, PA.
