Mrs. Ethel Geiger, 100, of New Kensington, passed away at 11:55 AM, Thursday, February 17th, 2011 while in the company of family members at UPMC St. Margaret, Pittsburgh. Ethel was born in Great Belt, Pa on November 26, 1910, the daughter of the late James and Alouisa (Gallagher) Fishpaw. She was the widow of John M. Geiger who passed away on February 20, 1965. She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Church in New Kensington, and enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Pirates and playing solitaire.

She is survived by her 2 daughters Evelyn Bresuciak (whom she lived with ), and Eleanor (Frank) McCurdy of Natrona Heights; daughter-in-law Romie Geiger of Ocala, FL; sisters-in-law June Cross of Arnold, and Henrietta Miller of Wheeling, WV; grandchildren Debbie (Mark Nulph) Arvay-Nulph of New Kensington, John Bresuciak of New Kensington, Lauren Nethen of Ocala, FL., Kim(Ted Woizeski) McCurdy of Ashville, NC, and Diane (Drew) Faulkner of San Rafael, CA.. She is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews

Ethel was also preceded in death by her two sons William and Joseph Geiger; grandson Gary McCurdy; son-in-law Rudy Bresuciak; grandson-in-law Bernard Arvay; and 2 brothers and 4 sisters.

Family and friends are being received on Sunday from 12-3 and 5-7 PM. at the Redmond Funeral Home Inc.. 524 High St. Freeport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 1 PM in St. Joseph Church, New Kensington, with Fr. Alan Grote officiating. Everyone is asked to please meet at the church. Burial will be held in St. Mary's Cemetery Lower Burrell, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to:
