Mrs. Dorothy G. Thompson, 90, of Saxonburg, passed away at 11:15 am, Saturday, September 18th, 2010 while in the company of family members at Fair Winds Manor, Winfield Twp., PA.

Dorothy was born in Natrona Heights, PA on December 15, 1919, the daughter of the late Emile and Christina (Scheer) Gaillot. She was the widow of George W. Thompson, Sr. who passed in 1994 after 54 years of marriage.

She worked for 24 years as a sorter at DuCo Ceramics in Saxonburg, retiring in 1985.

Dorothy was a past member of the Rebecca Lodge in Freeport. She enjoyed watching TV and cross stitching. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Freeport

She is survived by her children: Daughter Judy (James) Wright of Saxonburg; 2 Sons Tommy L. (Judy) Thompson of Buffalo Twp., Richard A. Thompson of Emelton. One sister, Ruth Humphreys of St. Clairsville, OH. Dorothy is also survived by her 7 grand and 13 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded by her son, George W. Thompson, Jr., infant daughter, Robin Thompson, grandson, Steven V. Thompson, great grandson, Noah Heasley and 7 brothers and 4 sisters.

Family and friends are being received on Wednesday Sept 22 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.. in the Redmond Funeral Home Inc. 524 High St. Freeport

A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home at 10:00 am on Thursday, September 23rd, with Rev. Edd Myers officiating.

Burial will be held in Mt. Airy Cemetery Natrona Heights, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Saxonburg Area Library Assoc. 240 W Main St. Saxonburg, PA 16056
