Mrs. Josephine A. Alvino, 85, of Freeport, passed away at 9:30 AM, Saturday, December 5th, 2009 peacefully at Sunnyview Nursing Center, Butler , PA.

Josephine was born in Vandergrift, PA on April 26, 1924, the daughter of the late Jesse and Antoinette (Enrico) Logero. She was a homemaker and member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Freeport, PA

She was the widow of Dominic J. Alvino who passed in April 2008. Mrs. Alvino is survived by her two children: Kathleen J. (John Conte) Gross of Brockton, MA. and James P. (Marsha) Alvino of Jefferson Twp. 2 grandsons, Kevin (Lynn) Gross of Boylston, MA and Jeffrey (Candis) Gross of Scottsdale, AZ. 3 great-grandchildren; Sydney, Jamie and Jack Gross all of Scottsdale, AZ

Mrs. Alvino is preceded in death by her 3 brothers John and Thomas Logero and James Logero who was shot down over Germany during WWII.

At the family's request there will be no visitation. Burial will be held in St. Mary's Cemetery Freeport, PA.
