Eugene A. Ross, 76, of Allegheny Twp., passed away at 7:19 PM, Wednesday, December 26th, 2007 while in the company of family members at Allegheny Valley Hospital, Harrison Twp.Mr. Ross was born in Freeport, on December 9, 1931, the son of the late Paul R. and Jeannette (Raite) Ross.He was a member of Allegheny Presbyterian Church in Allegheny Twp. where he was a member for over 50 years and served as a Deacon for many years.He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. When he retired from his service he worked as a Diesel Journeyman Mechanic at Beckwith Machinery Murrysville, for 34 years. He retired in 1992. Gene was a member of the F&AM Armstrong Lodge #239 He was an avid hunter who enjoyed woodworking, traveling and going on gambling trips with his wife. He volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and was very involved with the maintenance and upkeep at his church. Gene really loved to spend time with his grandchildren He is survived by his wife of 55 years Patricia (Cooper) Ross. His two sons; Paul E. (Sandra) Ross of Buffalo Twp., Shawn E. (Teresa) Ross of Allegheny, Twp., 3 daughters; Sandra K. (Thomas) Sterger of Webster, WI., Patti J. (Bruce) Vasey of Butler, Twp and Kim (Bruce) Sproull of Allegheny Twp. A Sister, Eunice E. (Robert) Schwietering of Colonia, NJ. Gene is also survived by his grandchildren; Ronald J., Kandee E. and Sally A. Normandin, Kristen M. Ross and her fianc Sean Wardand Natalie J. Ross and her fianc Zachary Pollino, Zachary M and Olivia J. Vasey and Dalton A. and Mason A Ross.He is preceded in death is 3 brothers Jack S., Paul R. Jr and William E. Ross.Family and friends are being received on Sat. 12/29 from 7-9 pm. and Sunday 12/30 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. in the REDMOND FUNERAL HOME, INC. 524 High St. Freeport, PA A Masonic service will held at 7:00 PM Saturday, December 29, in the funeral home.A funeral service will be held at Allegheny Presbyterian Church, Leechburg, PA, at 11:00 am on Monday, December 31st, with Lay Minister Lloyd Riggle officiating. Interment private at convenience of the Family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Allegheny Presbyterian Church 1900 Route 356 Leechburg, PA 15656
