Mrs. Joan (Laux) Brothers, 75, of South Buffalo Twp., passed away at 7:00 AM, Monday, December 24th, 2007 while in the company of family members at her residence. Mrs. Brothers was born in Freeport, PA on March 17, 1932, the daughter of the late Thomas and Marie A. (Doyle) Laux.She was a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church Freeport, PA 16229. Before she started her family she had worked as an operator for Freeport Telephone Co. Joan was a member of the South Buffalo Twp. Vol Fire Dept. Ladies Aux where she made many pies and the coleslaw for the firehall functions. She enjoyed baking, gardening sewing and camping. She is survived by her husband of 49 years Donald Brother. Her 2 sons; Thomas (Leisa) Brothers of Buffalo Twp.., Kevin Brothers of South Buffalo Twp and her daughter, Kathy (Mark) Borland of Idaho Falls, ID. She is also survived by She is also survived by her 5 grandchildrenFamily and friends are being received on Thursday Dec 27th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. in the REDMOND FUNERAL HOME, INC. 524 High St. Freeport, PA. A Parish Wake Service wil be held at 8:30 pm Thursday at in the funeral home. A parting prayer service will be held in the funeral home at 9:30 am followed by Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Freeport, PA, at 10:00 am on Friday, December 28th, with Rev. John T. Euker officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery Freeport, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church 608 High St. Freeport, PA 16229
