Mrs. Velma Delores Ortz, 75, of South Buffalo Twp, passed away at 4:35 PM, Thursday, May 17th, 2007 while in the company of family members at Allegheny Valley Hospital, Harrison Twp., PA.Mrs. Ortz was born in Leechburg, PA on December 25, 1931, the daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin and Stella Lydia (Schultz) Burns.Mrs. Ortz attended Evangel Heights Assembly of God Church in Buffalo Twp She was a former member of TOPS weight loss program were she lost 108 lbs. She enjoyed crocheting, and knitting. She was also an avid archery shooter Velma was the widow of James "Pete" Ortz., Sr. who passed away in 2003. She is survived by her 4 daughters; Lonna (John) Thomas of Waynesburg, Gloria Stull of Butler, Jamie (Jeffery) Crissman of North Buffalo Twp., Betty (Henry) Stivers of Ford City and her son James H. (Debbie) Ortz, Jr. of South Buffalo Twp 13 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. A brother, Charles (Carol) Burns of Kittanning. 2 sisters Betty J. Henry of Leechburg., Dorothy Phillipi of Leechburg.She is preceded by her 4 brothers Harvey, William, Steven and Victor Burns. 2 sisters Alice L. and Shara BurnsFamily and friends are being received on Sunday May 20th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.. in the REDMOND FUNERAL HOME, INC. 524 High St. Freeport A funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 10:00 am on Monday, May 21st, with Reverend Richard Molgaard, of Templeton Church of God Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Brookland Cemetery Allegheny Twp., PA.
