Mr. Howard (Bud) Coward, 82, of South Buffalo Twp. passed away Tuesday, May 8th, 2007 at is home.Mr. Coward was born in Freeport, PA on February 26, 1925, the son of the late George and Florence B. (Hildebrand) Coward.He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church Brackenridge, PA 15014. He served in the US Army in WW II. Bud enjoyed gardening, reloading, fly fishing, camping with family and yard work . He was also a usher and a communion steward for his church.During his early life, Bud lived in Homeworth, OH and worked at United Co. Op Paint plant in Alliance, OH. He then served in the US Army during W.W.II. Following his service in the Army he worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad (Con Rail) in the Communications and Signal Department and retired in 1986 after 38 years Mr. Coward is survived by his wife of 57 years, Helen (Shea) Coward. His daughter, Nancy L. Kolbe of Venice, FL. 4 Grandsons Jonathan (Meghan) Kolbe of Cowansville,PA, Michael Kolbe serving in the U. S. Air force of Dayton, OH, and twins Darren Kolbe of in the US Army serving in Iraq and Duane Kolbe of Newark, NJ. A. great-grandson Matthew J. Kolbe. Bud was preceded in death by a son Howard Brooks Coward, Jr., 2 Brothers George Coward, Jr. and William John Coward and a sister Mary E. Coward.Family and friends will be received on Thursday May 10th from 2-4 and 7-9. in the REDMOND FUNERAL HOME, INC. 524 High St. Freeport A funeral service will be held in Trinity United Methodist Church, Brackenridge, PA, at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, May 11th, with Reverend Alyce Weaver officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Airy Cemetery Natrona Heights, PA. In lieu of flowers the family has asked for donations to be made to Good Samaritan Fund 847 10th Ave. Brackenridge, PA 15014 orFreeport Area Library 428 Market St. Freeport, PA 16229
