Maribel F. Griffith, 82, of Freeport, passed away Monday, Nov. 16, 2015, while in the company of family members, at Armstrong County Health Center, in Kittanning. Maribel was born Feb. 14, 1933, in Natrona Heights. She was the daughter of the late Delphine (Stivason) and George A. Tantlinger. She worked as a book keeper at West Penn Hospital for 15 years. Maribel enjoyed crafts, woodworking, painting, reading and Facebooking. She always looked forward to her bus trips to Atlantic City with her high school girlfriends. She is survived by her son, Gary Griffith, of Tacoma, Wash.; daughter, Susan (Fred) Elkin, of North Buffalo Township; daughter, Amy Harpool, of New Kensington; and son, Patrick Griffith, of Tacoma, Wash. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren with one on the way. She was preceded in death by her son, Mark Griffith; and her brothers, William and Frank Tantlinger.
Family and friends will be received from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, 2015, in the REDMOND FUNERAL HOME INC., 524 High St., Freeport. A private family funeral service will be held and burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Allegheny Township.
