Delores J. Gowetski, 88, of Natrona Heights, passed away on, Wednesday, September 21st, peacefully, at UPMC St. Margaret in Pittsburgh. Delores was born in Kittanning on October 27, 1927. She was the daughter of the late Sarah (Brailey) and Edward Shaul. She was the widow of Ralph E. Gowetski who passed in 1998. She worked as a patient transfer manger at Allegheny Valley Hospital in Natrona Heights. Delores retired in 1992 to care for her husband. After his passing she went back to work as a volunteer with AVH. She had over 50 years of service with the hospital. Delores was a member of St. Mary, Mother of God Church in Freeport. Delores was a member of the Christian Mothers and Catholic Daughters of America. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and leather craft work. Delores loved to travel and was also avid sports fan, watching all the different sports from the local, college and Pro teams. Delores is survived by her 4 daughters; Delores Wassam, of Claysburg, PA, Debbie (Dennis) Baustert, of Allegheny Twp., Marcia (Ronald) Kulick, of Apollo, Sara (Michael) Mester, of New Kensington. Her 3 sons John Gowetski, of Denver, CO., Brian (Shirley) Gowetski, of Conneaut Lake, PA and Steven (Leda) Gowetski, of Haughton, PA. She is also survived by her 21 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and her one great great grandchild. Preceded by her son Joel E. Gowetski and an infant daughter, Alicia Gowetski. Her 3 brothers, Harry, Raymond & Gordon Shaul and her sister, Wilma Cagle. Family and friends will be received on Friday Sept. 23rd from 2-4 & 7-9 pm in the Redmond Funeral Home Inc. 524 High St in Freeport. A parting prayer service will be held in the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am on Sat Sept. 24th in St. Mary, Mother of God Church in Freeport, with Father Raphael Glinkowski officiating Burial will be held in Our Lady of Hope Tarentum, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to; Alzheimer's Association 1100 Liberty Avenue, Suite E-201 Pittsburgh, PA 15222
