Howard S. Troup, 95, of South Buffalo Twp passed away on Sunday, February 17th, 2019 peacefully, at Oakmont Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Oakmont. Howard was born in Mayport, PA on October 6, 1923, a son of the late Arveta (Reichard) and Norman Troup. He was the widower of Geraldine H. (Brocious) Troup who passed in 1997. Howard enlisted in the US Army during WWII and was stations in North Africa. After his service to his country, Howard came home and took a job at Allegheny Ludlum Steel. He worked as an operator at the 8-3 Dept. in Brackenridge for 30 years, retiring in 1985. Howard was a member of Lighthouse Fellowship Center in Sarver. Howard was a member of the VFW Post #92 in Lower Burrell. He enjoyed bowling, hunting, playing guitar, bus trips to gospel music concerts and watching all the Pittsburgh sports teams. Howard is survived by his son and daughter in law, Kenneth H. & Anne Troup, of Harwick. His grandchildren, Sherri & Jerold Rispoli and Gregory & Lauren Troup. 5 great grandchildren, Jonathan and Ethan Troup, Nicholas, Anna and Joseph Rispoli. Howard is also survived by two sisters, Alma Douthett, of Natrona Heights; Alberta & Ron Hawk, of Distant, PA. Two brothers, Clarence & Phyllis Troup, of Mayport, PA and Ivan "Glenn" & Dorcea Troup, of Sarver. In addtion to his parents and his wife, Howard is preceded by his brother, Wayne Troup. Family and friends will be received on 4-7 PM on Wednesday, February 20th in the Redmond Funeral Home Inc. 524 High St. in Freeport, PA Funeral service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, February 21st in the Lighthouse Fellowship Center, 130 Lucas Lane in Sarver, with Rev. Richard Shick officiating. Burial will be held in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Distant, PA. Very sorry for your loss. The death of a loved one is very difficult and painful, may you be comforted by the fact that God cares and has provided a wonderful hope for us in His word the Bible. These promises are found throughout the scripture but here are two that I hope will be encouraging to you, John 6:40 and Acts 24:15.

Dear Ken, Anne & all of your family ~ You have my deepest sympathy in the loss of your Dad. It was my privilege to know Howard for nearly 60 years!
I have many fond memories of Howard & Gerry! They were always more than Uncle & Aunt ~ they were very dear friends! Praying you will sense God's great love, peace and comfort surrounding you!
