Alan S. Yost, 76, of Portersville, PA, passed away on Monday, January 10, 2022 peacefully, at his home. Alan was born in Pittsburgh on May 30, 1945, a son of the late Albert and Geraldine (Crawford) Yost. He served in the U.S. Army and Army Reserves. He worked as an electronics technician for the US Army and US Government for 26 years. Alan was a member of the American Legion and the VFW. He was a keyboard player in a number of local bands over the years. He worked for the Paul Giordino Exercise TV Show. He composed the music and worked the camera for the show. Alan was an animal lover and took care of many animals. He was an amateur weather man working with Skywarn for the National Weather Service. Alan is survived by his wife of 21 years, Carol L. Yost. Step daughter, Tammy Raszkowski, of Freeport; Step son, Shawn (Debra) Bell, of Hyde Park; Step son in law, Robert Raszkowski, of Freeport. Step grandchildren, Tasha Harkabusic, Tiffany Raszkowski, Blaise Hilderbrand and Cheyenne Bell. 2 step great grandchildren, Logan Paden and Colton Harkabusic. Alan is also survived by his brother, Paul Yost and 2 nephews, Josh & Eric Yost. Family and friends will be received on Friday, January 14th from 5 to 7 pm in the Redmond Funeral Home Inc. 524 High St in Freeport, PA. Funeral service will be held in the funeral home following the visitation at 7 pm with Pastor Jack Erskine of Curry Run Church, Shelocta, PA officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Orphans of the Storm 11878 Pennsylvania 85 Kittanning, PA 16201.
