Benjamin W. Cataldi

Benjamin W. Cataldi, 36, of the Brookline section of Pittsburgh passed away on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 due to medical issues at his home. Ben was born in Natrona Heights on October 18, 1985, a son of Cindy D. (Lewis) Cataldi and Randy J. Cataldi, of South Buffalo Twp. Ben was a 2004 graduate of Freeport Area High School where he played football and baseball. He was a 2009 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in accounting and he also played on the Panther's baseball team. He was employed as a bartender and manager at Bootleggers in Oakland. Ben enjoyed all the Pittsburgh sports teams and was a huge Pirates  fan. Ben loved working at Bootleggers and meeting new friends. Ben is survived by his parents, brother, Zack (Laura) Cataldi, of Cranberry Twp.; sisters, Kellie Cataldi, of Creighton; Amy Cataldi, of Valencia. Maternal grandmother, Jean Lewis of South Buffalo Twp, and Paternal grandmother, Patsy Cataldi of Worthington. Nieces and nephews; Aliyah, Thomas, Colin, Alex and Ariana and his best friend, Robert "Junior" Scheible Ben is preceded by his grandfathers, Darrel Lewis and Joseph Cataldi.  Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, May 31st from 2-4 & 6-8 pm in the Redmond Funeral Home Inc. 524 High St. in Freeport, PA. Funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 11 am on Wednesday, June 1st with Rev. Hester Shick officiating. A private immediate family burial will be held at Freeport Cemetery Freeport, PA. To honor Ben’s passion for Pittsburgh sports, please feel free to dress in Pittsburgh sports attire. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Epilepsy Association Of Western PA 1501 Reedsdale Street, Suite 3002 Pittsburgh, PA 15233 in hopes of helping his nephew.
