Betty I. Reesman, 97 of Lower Burrell, passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at Platinum Ridge Center. Betty was born in Worthington, PA on October 26, 1927, a daughter of the late Gladys I. (Holly) and Garrett Hobart Younkins. She was the widow of James E. Reesman Sr., who passed away in 1983. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Brackenridge. She enjoyed bowling and was in a league with her sisters, Jean and Helen. She also loved to hunt with her husband. They loved traveling; they traveled out west, to Alaska and also to the 1982 World Fair in Knoxville, TN. Betty enjoyed listening to Christian radio, reading her Bible daily, and camping with her daughters Jamie and Judy. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Betty is survived by three daughters, Sandra Gay LaStrappes, of Lower Burrell; Jamie Lynn (Jim) Sofaly, of Lower Burrell; and Judith Irene (Randy) Kowola, of Apollo; a son, James E. (Mary Ann) Reesman Jr., of Natrona Heights; 6 grandchildren; Kimberly (Kelly), Maureen, Chris, Kerry Ann (Gary), James III and Robert, 9 great grandchildren, Zakary, Kylar, Madison, Mariah, Cameron, Courtney, Nicholas, Nathaniel and Ava Jane and her mom, Jennifer and three sisters, Esther Mainhart of Sarver, Shirley Jean Smith of Leechburg and Helen Swigart of Leechburg. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Cory Allen Sofaly who passed away in 2016, brothers, Hugh "Bud" Younkins and Golden "Buzzy" Younkins and sister, Patricia Booher. Betty was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. We will love and miss you every day. Visitation and services will be private. Private burial will be held in Freeport Cemetery.
