On the 30th of June 2025 after struggling with medical conditions, Brian James Wilson is assured a place in heaven. He passed away peacefully in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho where he’d made his home for over 40 years. He was born on August 28, 1944 and was raised in Butler PA. He worked most of his life in the Optometry business. He was a devout Catholic. He also served his country in the US Navy from 1964-68. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter, hiker, sport shooter and fisherman. He is survived by a sister, Bernadine (Robert) Glocker of Hummelstown, PA. He will also be missed by two nephews Bob Powers and Eric Wilson, along with a niece, Christina Wilson (Sauer), along with numerous family members. He was preceded in death by his parents Floyd and Gertrude Wilson as well as a brother, Wayne Wilson. Family and friends will be received on Saturday, July 19, 2025 from 10-11 a.m. in the Redmond Funeral Home, Inc. 524 High St., Freeport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held following the visitation at 11 a.m. in St. Mary, Mother of God Church, 608 High St. Freeport, with Reverend Richard J. Kosisko, JCL, officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Freeport. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the VA Butler Healthcare, 353 N Duffy Rd., Butler PA 16001.
