Charles T. “Charlie” Conti, 78, formerly of Freeport and recently relocated to Titusville, FL passed away Friday, January 28, 2022 while in the company of family, at Alura by Inspired Living in Rockledge, FL. Charlie was born in Freeport on July 16, 1943, a son of the late Winifred Marie (Kissick) and Guido "Guy" Conti. Charlie was a 1961 graduate of Freeport High School. He was a friend to all, always there to offer a helping hand when others were in need. He worked as a high lift driver at Freeport Brick for over 20 years, before moving on to a position as a material handler at ABB in Greensburg for several years until retirement. Charlie proudly served as president of the White Star Club for many years. A club in which his grandfather was a founding father. An avid and accomplished golfer, he enjoyed countless hours with his wife (Joyce) and many friends on local courses. His love of sports also included playing both basketball and baseball while in school and many years of coaching his sons and others in Little league baseball. He also loved following the professional and college sports teams in the Pittsburgh area as well as Freeport High School sports. Charlie is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joyce E. (Baker) Conti. Daughter, Charlene (Rob) Melcher, of Titusville, FL. Sons, Keith (Mary) Conti, of Lake City, PA; Michael (Courtney) Conti, of Orchard Park, NY; 11 grandchildren Nicholas, Christina & Cassandra Melcher, Nathaniel (Anne), Tricia & Brock Conti, Tyler & Lauren Conti, Reece, Aiden & Keagan Lenz. He also survived by sister, Margaret (Richard) Crance, of Lagrange, IN. and his brother, Guy (Janet) Conti, of Vero Beach, FL; Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant grandson Jason Melcher. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, February 2nd from 2-4 & 6-8 pm in the Redmond Funeral Home Inc. 524 High St. in Freeport. Charlie was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Freeport. Funeral service will be held there on Thursday, February 3rd at 10:00 am, with Rev. Eric Damon officiating. Burial will be held in Freeport Cemetery Freeport, PA.
