Christopher M. Smith

Christopher M. Smith, 37, of Worthington, passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2023 in a cycling accident in Venango Co. Chris was born in Pittsburgh on May 21, 1986, a son of Leanne (Sharer) Smith, of Wexford and Michael D. Smith, of Freeport. Chris was a 2004 graduate of Freeport Area High School. He also attended WVU Tech. Chris was a management member at Pressure Chemical in Pittsburgh. Chris was known by all as a genuine great guy. He had extensive mechanical skills and loved helping everyone fix things and solve problems. Chris had an open-door policy and loved when family, friends and neighbors would swing by. Chris believed in working extremely hard so when the weekend came, he could enjoy the finer part of life. He was an avid outdoors man who loved fishing, boating, and biking. Chris had a deep passion for being outdoors but with him though it was never about actually catching the fish but being out there with the people he loved. Chris had a gift that he could find a positive in any situation. Chris really left every person he was around a better human being. He really had a personality that was addictive and made you want to be around him. In addition to his parents, Chris is survived by his brother, Scott M. Smith, of Freeport. His paternal grandmother, Shirley Mae Smith. Uncle, Frederick Smith & Deborah Brodsky. Aunts, Maribeth Smith & Jackie Goor and Amy & Brian Himmel. Chris is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Fred Smith and his maternal grandparents, Ronald & Sylvia Sharer. Family and friends will be received on Friday, June 2nd from 2-4 and 6-8 pm in the Redmond Funeral Home Inc. 524 High St. in Freeport, PA. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday June 3rd at 10 am. Burial will be private. The family would like no flowers to be sent and business casual attire be worn.
