Craig E. Steinke

Craig E. Steinke, 69 of South Buffalo Twp. passed away on March 12, 2024 peacefully, at Corner View Nursing & Rehab, in Pittsburgh. Craig was born in Natrona Heights on December 7, 1954, a son of the late Claire R. (VanSciver) Edmonston and Eugene Leo Steinke. He was the widower of Marlene D. (Smock) Steinke who passed away in March of 2023. Craig graduated from Highlands High School. After graduation he got a job as a truck driver with Allegheny Ludlum/ATI. He drove for over 30 years. Craig also worked for a number at Freeport Transport. Craig was a life member of the South Buffalo Vol. Fire Dept. He enjoyed running equipment for his excavating business and spending time at his camp in Slippery Rock. You could always find him by his signature cowboy hat. Craig is survived by his daughter, Cassandra and Andrew Mastarone, of King George, VA; Son, Eugene L. Steinke and his fiancé' Christine Cooper, of South Buffalo Twp. Grandchildren, Christian and Landon Mastarone, Gabriella Steinke & Sofia Santillo. Craig is also survived by his three sisters, Heidi Weiss, Dana (William) Kaczynski and Sheridan Steinke. He is also survived by his stepmother Sandra Steinke and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife and stepdad, George Edmonston. Family and freinds will be received on Saturday, March 23rd from 11:00am- 12:30pm in the Redmond Funeral Home Inc., 524 High St., in Freeport. A Memorial Service will follow at 12:30 pm in the funeral with Pastor Diane Randolph officiating. Burial will be held in Lawn Haven Burial Estates Worthington, PA.
