Daniel Albanese

Daniel Albanese, 67, of Lower Burrell, PA, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 4, 2020, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh. Dan was born in Pittsburgh on August 15, 1953, a son of the late Yolanda "Vi" (Scatena) and Frank Albanese. Dan worked for over 30 years with the Teamsters, Local 249 in Pittsburgh until his retirement in the early 2000's. After his retirement with the Teamsters, he owned and operated a real estate business in Bloomfield. Dan was a lifelong Steelers fan and his family has had season tickets since 1969. Dan was able to attend 4 of the 6 winning Steelers SuperBowls and was at the game when the Immaculate Reception took place. He enjoyed all Pittsburgh sports and was very proud of his City of Champions. Dan was an active member of Evangel Heights Assembly of God in Sarver for over 30 years and he was not afraid to tell people what Christ had done in his life. Dan is survived by his wife of 28 years, Lorna (Walz) Albanese, and their 2 daughters, Rosina Albanese and Maria Albanese, both of Lower Burrell; He is also survived by two sisters, Theresa (Fred) Paganico, of Pittsburgh; Margaret "Peg" (Bill) Kaper, of Slippery Rock; sister-in-law Fran Albanese of Pittsburgh, and his brother, Anthony "Skip" (Patty) Albanese, of Springdale. Dan is preceded in death by his parents, his Aunt and Uncle Rose & Clarence "Art" Murdy who raised him, and a brother, Richard "Dickie" Albanese. Family and friends will be received on Thursday December 10th from 3:00-7:00 and Friday December 11th from 5:00-6:00 at Evangel Heights Assembly of God 120 Beale Rd. in Sarver. Funeral service will be held on Friday December 11th at 6:30 PM at Evangel Heights Church.   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Daniel's name to a Missionary cause of choice.
