David Pflugh Obituary

David B. Pflugh, 83, of Dade City, Fla., passed away Thursday, Dec. 3, 2020, at AdventHealth Hospital, in Zephyrhills, Fla. Dave was formerly of Parks Township. Dave was born Nov. 22, 1937, in Herman, Pa., a son of the late Helen Glenora (Vensel) and Wilbert Russell Pflugh. He was the widower of Patricia A. Pflugh, who passed in 2015. Dave worked for the Boilermakers Local No. 154 in Pittsburgh for 35 years and retired in 2000. He also operated a small engine and lawn mower repair shop in Vandergrift for more than 30 years. He was a member of St. Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Saxonburg. Dave enjoyed travel, golf, gardening, painting, fixing lawn mowers and spending time with his family, who affectionately referred to him as "Papa". Dave is survived by his two daughters, Nicki (Ken) Sayward, of Philadelphia, and Shelley Pflugh, of Erie; three sons, Jeff (Lisa) Pflugh, of Natrona Heights, Charles (Cheryl) Pflugh, of Dade City, Fla., and Terry (Peggy) Pflugh, of Gastonia, N.C.; 13 grandchildren, Jonathan Gore, Taylor Sayward, Davina Toland, Derek Toland, Helen Bollinger, Dustin Pflugh, Russell Pflugh, Seth Starling, Greg Pflugh, Chelsea Powell, Joseph Pflugh, Brandi Golden and Jackie Perelli; and four great-grandchildren, James and Judy Bollinger and Elena and Tyler Pflugh. He is also survived by his sister, Carrie (Willard) Butler, of Saxonburg, and his beloved partner, Mary Hardt, of Dade City, Fla. Dave was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Patrick Gore and R.J. Toland III; three brothers, Wilbert Elmer, Harold Lewis and Harry Stanford Pflugh; and one sister, Edna Mae Pflugh-Alderson. At the family's request, there will be no public visitation and a private burial will be held in St. Mary's Cemetery, in Freeport. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that you donate to the Zephyrhills hospital where both "Papa" and "Grammie" received care in their later years.
