David E. VanDyke, 67, of Distant, PA, passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2025. David was born in Kittanning, PA on March 24, 1957, a son of the late Hazel M. (Shields) and Dale C. VanDyke. David was a graduate of East Brady High School. He was a laborer at Eljer Toilet Plant in Ford City for over 20 years. David enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family.
David is survived his son,Chad (Rhonda) VanDyke, of East Brady, two sisters, Nancy Craig, of Freeport and Dianne Ratcliff, of Las Vegas, NV; three brothers, Herbert (Vicki) VanDyke, of Witchita, KS; Larry (Sharon) VanDyke, of Aspinwall, and James (Ginger) VanDyke, of Wisconsin; his girlfriend, Beverly Crissman, of New Bethlehem, and niece, Annie Fenstermaker, of New Bethlehem.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Thomas VanDyke and his sisters Karen Waldenville, Dorothy Wiester and Nora Kiem
Family and friends will be received on Thursday, February 20th, from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. in the Redmond Funeral Home Inc. 524 High Street, Freeport. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Friday February 21st at 10 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Jeffrey Truscott officiating. Private family burial will be held in Mateer Cemetery, Boggs Twp.
