Dennis L. Fester, 74, of Sarver, PA, passed away on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. Dennis was born in Kittanning on January 31, 1947, a son of the late Frances I. (Sweeney) Fester-Hesselgesser and Leslie R. Fester. Dennis was a 1965 graduate of Freeport High School. He received his Masters Degree in Business Administration from Phoenix University. Dennis served in the U.S. Army as a Sergeant during the Vietnam War. He was a Purple Heart recipient and earned a Bronze Star with on Oak Leaf Cluster for his service to his country. After his honorable discharge Dennis went to work as a computer programer. He worked for a number of different companies through out his 40 year career and retired from Advance Technology Systems in Virginia in 2009. Dennis attended Allegheny Valley Baptist Church in Natrona Heights. Dennis was a great man of faith and truly loved his God. He enjoyed reading, fishing, walking and doing art work. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. Dennis is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sally A. (Cafiso) Fester. Two daughters, Felecia (Corey) Smiley, of Indianapolis, IN; Frances (Tom) Binkowski, of Etna and his son, David Foester, of Freeport; He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Tina Marie Fester and 3 sisters, Frances Neale, Donna Hadden and Carol Betush. Family and friends will be received on Friday, March 12th from 2-5 pm in the Redmond Funeral Home Inc. 524 High St. in Freeport, PA. Funeral services are private and burial will be held in Lawn Haven Burial Estates in Worthington, PA.
