Dorothy Irene Dobransky, 90, of Freeport, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 17, 2025, surrounded by her family. Dorothy was born in Luxor, Pennsylvania, on September 15, 1935, a daughter of the late Dorothy (Dwyer) and Sylvester Gornick. She was the widow of Frank Dobransky, who passed away in 1977. Dorothy worked as an RN and nursing instructor at Allegheny Valley Hospital and Citizens General Hospital. She retired after 20 years of teaching from Lenape Technical School, in 2001. She was a lifetime member of St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church in Ford City. She enjoyed spending time with her family at picnics and bonfires and going on walks. She is survived by three sons Stephen (Michelle Scopel) Dobransky, of Ford City; John (Kelly Gallagher) Dobransky, of Sarver; Peter (Jody Anderson) Dobransky, of Freeport; and by two daughters, Mary Dobransky, of Freeport, and Theresa (Bill) Coe, of Valparaiso, IN, and by 17 grandchildren and one great grandchild with one on the way, as well as two sisters and one brother. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. Friends will be received on Thursday, November 20, 2025, from 6-8 pm at the Redmond Funeral Home, Inc., 524 High Street, Freeport. A Mass will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025 at 10:00 am at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 514 9th Street, Ford City with Rev. John Gribik officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Ford City. In lieu of flowers, Dorothy's family suggests that memorial contributions be made to a charity of the donor's choosing.
