Edward Betush Obituary

Edward Scott Betush, 62, of Tarentum, passed away Saturday, August 19th. Scott was born in Natrona Heights, on August 7, 1961. A 1979 graduate of Freeport Area High School, he attended Clarion University. He served his country as a member of the United States Army. Scott was a member of the Amplified City Campus. For 13 years, he worked as a housing officer in the city of Pittsburgh for Gold Shield Security, rising to the level of lieutenant. Scott was a devout Pittsburgh sports fan and enjoyed playing Facebook games and chess. He was well loved and left a legacy of kindness and sarcasm to those he encountered. Scott is survived by his partner of 13 years, Traci Edmunds; his children Mary (Josh) Pfeiffer, Kasey Betush, Cody (Amanda) Betush, Cameron (Hailey) Betush, & Carolee Erb; his sister Leslie (Duane) Carey and a niece and nephew Latoyia and Zackery Carey and multiple grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his mother Carol Lee (Fester) Betush, his father Edward Betush, as well as his daughter Kira Owens. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, August 29th, from 1-5 p.m. in the Redmond Funeral Home, Inc. 524 High St. Freeport. A funeral service will be held following the visitation at 5:30 p.m. with Rob Gasowski officiating. A private family burial will be held in Lawn Haven Burial Estates, Worthington.
