Eleanor M. (Garvin) Reesman

Eleanor M. Reesman, 93, of Freeport, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Allegheny Valley Hospital. She was born on March 28, 1933, to the late John and Velma Garvin in Creighton, PA. Eleanor grew up in Coal Hollow, Sarver, PA, where she graduated from Freeport High School in 1951. She married the love of her life, Kenneth Reesman, on September 18, 1953. Eleanor enjoyed her weekly hair appointments, working in her yard, and collecting antiques, but most of all, loved spending time with her family. She was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ, whose faith was the foundation of her life. She loved the Lord with all her heart and found joy in reading His Word, praying for her family and friends, and sharing His love with others. Eleanor is survived by her two sons, John (Marcie) Reesman and Jeffrey (Sheril) Reesman; her grandchildren, John (Tricia) Reesman, Sara (Justin) Hildebrand, Lexie Reesman, Tiffany (Jeremiah) Nicholson, Darren (Dory) Nicholson, and Brittany (Chad) Smith; and her great-grandchildren, Luke, Lucy, and Lily Reesman, and Weston, Everleigh, and Grayson Smith. Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth “Ken” Reesman, who passed away in 1989, and her brothers, Howard and Richard Garvin. Friends will be received on Thursday, July 16, 2026 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the Redmond Funeral Home, Inc., 524 High Street. A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 17, 2026 at 11 am at the funeral home with Pastor Dennis Smith officiating. The family would like to thank the staff at Concordia Lund Building for taking such great care of Eleanor these past few years.
