Floyd D. Lux, 80, of Freeport, passed away Sunday, December 22, 2024 at home surrounded by his loving family.
Floyd (Butch) was born in Buffalo, NY on April 17, 1944, a son of the late Mable E. (Clarke) and Floyd E. Lux.
Floyd was a 1962 graduate of the Griffith Institute in Springville, NY and Penn State University graduate, where he received his associate's degree in business. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1962-1966. Floyd was employed for over 20 years at Spang and Company in Butler where he worked as a supervisor. He also worked at Northwood Realty / Berkshire Hathaway Home Services. Floyd was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Sarver. He enjoyed golfing, playing cards, and spending time with his family. Also, for many years he enjoyed coaching little league baseball and watching his grandchildren play sports through the years.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carol L. (Petersen) Lux of 59 years. His children, Lori (Mike) Gasbarro, Brett (Heather) Lux, and Kelly (Rob) Toy, 9 grandchildren; Elizabeth, Micaela, Jenae, Dominic, Casey Lux, Cole Lux, Rylie Toy, Delanie (fiancé, Jarrett Dougherty) and Taelyn Toy, two sisters, Rose Mesch and Marie (Robert) Clark, niece Debra (Dan) Edgar and sister in-law Kathleen Bliss.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack and Edward Lux.
Visitation and services will be private.
